GIREF and mission

The International Research Group in Ethics and in Finance is an international network of university researchers, students, and business professionals whose mission is to develop and disseminate knowledge in ethics, governance, corporate social responsibility, finance and economics. It thus aims to:

  • reinforce the relationship of confidence in the governance of organizations;
  • promote the integration of ethical values into financial decisions;
  • develop a knowledge hub on banking, microfinance and corporate social responsibility;
  • promote international relations between researchers in economics and finance;
  • train a new generation of managers marked by the current concerns of society such as ethics, good governance, social responsibility and sustainable development.

GIREF originated from the Groupe international de recherche en éthique financière et fiduciaire that was founded by Professor Andrée De Serres of School of Management, University of Quebec in Montreal and Professor Michel Roux, former Dean of the Economics and Business Management Faculty, of Paris 13 University. De Serres and Roux have co-directed GIREF until 2018.
